- Likes chicken yakitori, doramas on tv (when she can spare the time,) dancing, playing the fue, cats
- Dislikes flower arranging, science, frogs, steak, rap music
- Fears bringing shame to her okiya, spiders
- General Personality She is a bit of a perfectionist, and as a result seems unapproachable to some in daily life. When she's not working she's a bit of a loner, spending time at the okiya studying or playing with the pet cat.
However, during ozashiki, she turns on the charm. Never brash and informal, but she does put out the effort. Were she not to make the effort, she'd just be sitting shyly off to one side.

- Most Important Event When she was a little girl, her Grandmother took her to the Miyako Odori. The beauty of the women left Yukie-chan starstruck. She soon after begged to take dancing lessons with the hope of becoming at least a little bit as elegant as the women she had seen performing.
- GENERAL HISTORY Yukie was born in the middle of winter, when the show lay heavy on the pines. The name Yukie was chosen because her mother thought of her precious baby as a blessing that came with the snow. There was nothing special about her childhood that might lead her to the life of a geisha until her Grandmother took her to the Miyako Odori. Geisha then became her idols. Where her friends idolized pop singers or actresses, young Yukie idolized Iwasaki Mineko of Gion Kobu or Teruha of Shimbashi. She studied hard in traditional Japanese dance, and never refused her Grandmother's invitations to get dressed up in kimono and attend one of the seasonal dances or kabuki performances.
After she graduated from junior high, no one in her family was surprised when she declared her intention to join an okiya and become a geisha. She joined (name unknown at this point) okiya at the age of 15 and two years later is an ichininmae tachikata maiko.
After she came to the hanamachi, she took to the habit of looking through old dance programs, to get a good sense of the history of her hanamachi. There she found another Shikabayashi! Shikabayashi Rurime had worked under the name of Okiku during the Taisho and Showa eras. When she brought this to the attention of her family, they admitted that they had known about it all along. Rurime was a her great-grandfather's cousin, who had been sold into an okiya at a young age. Shigeru thought that if his daughter knew about Rurime, it would just push her over the edge of wanting to become a geisha, and he had always hoped she would grow out of it. It took a few months for Yukie to forgive him for concealing that.
